Inquiries continue after police pursuit

A 29-year-old man continues to assist with inquiries after a pursuit at Bateau Bay this morning. 

About 6.30am (Monday 2 January 2017), a blue Holden Commodore came to notice after highway patrol observed it doing a burn out on the Central Coast Highway, near the intersection of Bateau Bay Road. . 

It will be alleged the driver of the car did not stop the vehicle, and a pursuit was initiated. 

The Commodore was abandoned on the Central Coast Highway, near the intersection of Coleridge Street, Bateau Bay. 

After a short foot chase through bushland, the 29-year-old was arrested. 

Inquiries revealed the man had three outstanding warrants. 

A search of the man located a quantity of a prohibited drug and a knife. 

Inquiries are continuing.
